Silver, jewellery & watches
Kidson-Trigg have a specialist section for silver, jewellery and watches every month. The autumn jewellery auctions are very popular, and November and December are always our flagship sales, with private and trade buyers bidding in the run-up to Christmas. A recent December auction saw a bracelet sell for £19,500 and a necklace for £12,000.
Oriental
Our most exciting find was a probate house call near Stroud in 2014: metal trunks in the far corners of the attic, each holding carefully wrapped Chinese snuff bottles. The collection fetched £250,000 in our April 2014 auction, with bidding from across the globe, including by telephone from Beijing. In 2023 a badly damaged Imperial yellow and red Chinese bowl sold for £36,000.
