What do I do if I have items to sell?

• Telephone us to discuss your items on 01793 861000.
• Email us (auctions@kidsontrigg.co.uk) with images, or WhatsApp us photos.
• Every Tuesday morning: walk-in drop-off and valuations, no appointment needed.
• All other visits to the auction room by appointment please.

How do I know if my items are worth selling?

Our experienced team will always advise you — over the phone, by your emailed photos or in person at a valuation day — on the type of items that do and don’t sell at auction. Certain laws prevent auctioneers selling some items, for example upholstery without fire-regulation labels, and electrical appliances.

When can I bring items to the auction rooms?

Please telephone to make an appointment for all visits and deliveries. Entries close approximately two weeks before each sale, but we are continuously cataloguing and can store items in advance of specialist auctions.

What do I do if my items do not sell?

We will always try your items in a couple of sales. Please telephone us after the sale for your results; we may recommend a lower estimate, grouping unsold items for a future sale, or prompt collection, as our storage is very limited.

What will I be charged?

Your goods are labelled, receipted, stored, photographed, lotted, researched and catalogued for our printed and fully illustrated online catalogue, and marketed locally, to the trade and online. Selling charges (all subject to VAT):

• £11.67 per lot entry fee, covering photography, lotting and cataloguing (on all lots, sold or not sold)
• 18% commission on the hammer price
• 1.5% of the hammer price for insurance (indemnity to cover loss, damage, fire etc.)

When will I receive my money?

We pay straight into your bank account within 14–21 working days (approximately two to three weeks after the sale), subject to receipt of payment from the purchasers.
