The online auction at Kidson-Trigg is held on a Wednesday, with open-house viewing on the Sunday morning and the Monday and Tuesday before. There is always a cross-section of contemporary and antique items — ceramics, glass, silver, jewellery, paintings, furniture, rugs, home furnishings and interiors, collectors’ items, and country house and probate clearance items.
When can I view?
Sunday morning, and Monday and Tuesday all day, before the Wednesday auction. You can also view every lot in the fully illustrated online catalogue one week before the auction. Please check condition before bidding; if you cannot attend, email a condition request before 2pm on the day before the auction.
How do I bid?
- Bid live online on auction day.
- Leave an absentee commission bid with the auctioneer — all absentee bids must be emailed to the auctioneer before 2pm on the day before the auction.
- We no longer accept telephone bids.
If you do not have a Kidson-Trigg approved regular bidding number, please email auctions@kidsontrigg.co.uk your full name, address, telephone, email and a copy of your passport, together with references (previous invoices from UK auction houses, or a UK auction house we can telephone).
How do I pay?
Bank transfer only — no cash, cheques, debit or credit cards. A buyer’s premium of 20% plus VAT (24% inclusive of VAT) is added to the hammer price; buying on the internet carries an extra percentage plus VAT. All payments must be made within 3 working days.
Collection & delivery
You can collect your goods in person after the sale day — we are not open during the online auction day. All collections are by appointment, except in the week after the auction, when you can turn up 10am–4pm. We can recommend several good local and international companies for packing and postage; we can pack and post small items such as jewellery, but we cannot post or pack china.
Storage is free for one week after the auction. Items are then moved to another warehouse and storage is charged at £10 per day per lot.
